An unusual weekend to discover Burgundy Franche Comté as you’ve never seen it before

An unusual weekend to discover Burgundy Franche Comté as you’ve never seen it before

Original accommodation for an unusual night out in Burgundy: why not sleep in a tiny house?

It’s small, it’s mobile and it’s all wood: the tiny house is a new kind of micro-house, firmly rooted in a minimalist trend that encourages us to (re)focus on the essentials – sleeping well and eating well to disconnect properly, that’s our leitmotiv at Les Cabottes. In short, the tiny house is not a traditional perched hut but a rather unusual cabin on wheels. After several trips across the Atlantic, where we discovered these strange dwellings, we decided to set up four of them in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards to offer our guests for an evening (or several!) a new type of tourist accommodation that combines an atypical stay in the heart of nature with top-of-the-range accommodation for an unforgettable experience. Let’s take a look at all four so that you can choose your favourite cabotte for an unusual night out in Burgundy.

La cabotte bleue: the stars under the stars for an unusual and comfortable stay

With its opening roof, the cabotte bleue is unusual accommodation with a capital “I”. For a siesta in the breeze or a night under the Milky Way, it’s up to you. At any time of year, the sunroof offers its share of little pleasures: while it’s possible to sleep under the stars all night long in summer, the coolness of winter doesn’t spoil the experience in the slightest – quite the opposite, in fact. Out in the countryside, the sky is incredible – watching the constellations snuggled up under the duvet is an experience in itself.

La cabotte jaune: the tribe’s den for ages 7 to 77

Two large double beds, a made-to-measure children’s bed that folds out from the wall, two terraces with views over the vines: our spacious yellow cabotte is the perfect family accommodation for young and old alike to enjoy an unusual weekend away. With its unusual Japanese staircase, ingenious furniture and board games, the cabotte jaune appeals to all generations. The proof is in our vinyl playlist, which is a perfect balance of artists from very different decades, including The Beatles, Louis Armstrong, Air and our favourite Quebec singer Philémon Cimon, who gives our cabins the air of a trapper’s cabin. Eclectic, we warn you!

La cabotte rouge: the mini cabin for lovers

If you’re planning a romantic break with your other half, there’s no doubt that our little red cabin is just the thing. With its bed nestling under the slopes of the cathedral roof, it’s ideal for sleeping close together and dreaming sweet dreams. This little cocoon overlooking the vineyards is the perfect place for a tête-à-tête away from the hustle and bustle of the city and everyday life, with nothing to think about. For a gourmet weekend away, you can also opt for our dinner baskets, delivered straight to your doorstep in the blink of an eye.

La cabotte verte: a very natural eco-friendly refuge

It’s a firm favourite with nature lovers looking for accommodation that reflects their values. With its dry toilets, its ecological impact is minimal for a charming, eco-responsible holiday right to the end of the line. A little anecdote: our green cabotte is Burgundian right down to its architecture, with an organic shell shape reminiscent of the famous marbled gastropod.

Unusual accommodation… and equally unusual things to do for a charming and unusual holiday

Sleeping in a tiny house is an unusual experience in itself, but at Les Cabottes we’re keen to take the change of scenery outside the walls. All you have to do is poke your nose out onto your terrace to discover it – there it is, enthroned, steaming; your private Nordic spa awaits you with its 37°C. There’s no need to wait your turn, book a time slot in advance or even splash around with strangers, as each cabotte has its own Nordic spa – perfect for a quiet midnight dip.

Relaxed after a refreshing dip in the pool, how aboutexploring Southern Burgundy by electric bike from Les Cabottes? Get on your bike and head for the vineyards or the Burgundy Canal – it’s up to you to choose your route. Between the Côte d’Or and the Saône-et-Loire, you’ll ride through the region, watching the changing landscapes unfold before your eyes as you discover the most beautiful natural sites in the Burgundy countryside.

Another idea for an unusual activity: if you’re not keen on the bicycle option but still want to discover Burgundy in an unusual way, we encourage you to leave your car in the car park and swap it for an option with authentic old-fashioned charm: a 2 CV! Accompanied by Mélanie, a Burgundian who knows a thing or two about her region, let her guide you on an unforgettable drive with your hair blowing in the wind. And if you’re more than 3 people, Mélanie has the solution, as she also offers tours in a “estafette”. If you’re a wine-lover, you can even opt for the ‘aperitif’ tour to enjoy a fine vintage wine as the sun goes down. Find out more about this favourite activity here.

Would you like to offer an unusual weekend including, for example, a night with dinner in one of our cabottes for a charming stay that’s sure to leave a lasting impression? Here’s the link to our gift box offer , which you can buy directly online by secure payment.

Massages, wood-fired Nordic baths, gourmet meals: at Les Cabottes, we take good care of you.

Your well-being is at the heart of our philosophy

When we came up with the idea for Les Cabottes, we wanted to create a place where you could relax. You know, the kind of place where you feel good at first sight. A place where you feel at home, but with that little extra something that lets you disconnect instantly and let yourself be lulled to sleep. The sound of the wind, the bells, the cockerel, the leaves on the vines changing colour with the seasons like a painting… In short, we simply wanted to offer you Burgundy’s natural beauty on a platter, so that you can leave us feeling completely refreshed.

A cosy little nest

Because we know there’s nothing like a good night’s sleep to recharge your batteries, we’ve carefully selected every detail of our bedding to help you sleep soundly. Our ultra-comfortable mattresses cater for all tastes (soft team and firm team, yes!) – our duvets are like big clouds in which you dream of curling up – and what can we say about our infinitely soft B&B sheets? Whether you opt for a cabin, a room or a gîte, you’ll always be comfortable.

The experience of a unique well-being massage

Whether you have minor muscle tension or simply want to relax and pamper yourself, Elodie offers a wide range of massages to meet the needs of our guests. Whether it’s a leg massage, a back massage or a full-body massage, she’ll adapt to your needs to help you disconnect from everyday life.

For your comfort, Elodie brings her massage table right to you. She’ll massage you directly in your accommodation, or in a room in our guest house if you’re staying in one of our two tiny houses.

Do you know the benefits of the Nordic spa?

If you choose to stay in one of our tiny houses, you’ll have the pleasure of discovering the Nordic spa , which will be waiting for you on the terrace of your accommodation. Heated over a wood fire to 37°C, this large, wooden, barrel-shaped hot tub is the ideal place to think of nothing but yourself. The gentle warmth of the water is perfect for soothing your aching muscles, the distinctive scent of the tannins transports you a thousand miles away from your everyday life, and what can we say about the comfortable benches where you can sit facing the view andadmire the vines in complete relaxation? And what about starting your dream evening with an aperitif served directly in your Nordic bath?

Attractive bonuses to prolong the pleasure and enjoy a true Burgundy experience

Our motto at Les Cabottes is “slow life holidays, close to nature”. Our aim is to offer you the sweetest holiday possible, so that you can forget all your everyday worries. To achieve this mission and welcome you in the best possible conditions, we have thought of every detail.

  • The delicate scent of Vinésime soaps
As you now know, local is our credo. As far as possible, we favour Burgundian craftsmanship to help you discover the nuggets of our beautiful region. Seduced by its enveloping scent, its soft texture and its pretty, eco-responsible format, we’re delighted to offer you Vinésime soaps. Surprise, not only will you enjoy the benefits of grapes in your glass, you’ll also feel them in your shower! That’s right, Vinésime soaps are made from Chardonnay grapes grown in Gevrey-Chambertin. You’ll find that this unmistakeable scent will instantly transport you to the heart of the vineyards for a moment of total relaxation.
  • Gourmet suggestions at any time of day
To keep up the momentum of letting go, your host Alexane (trained at the Institut Paul Bocuse) will take pleasure in concocting breakfasts and picnics for you every day, as well as aperitif platters and gourmet baskets for dinner in the form of a small starter/main course/dessert menu featuring products from Burgundy Franche Comté.
  • Leisure activities to help you unwind
After the Nordic bath that has completely relaxed you, the shower with the delicate flavour of Chardonnay and the hot dinner that arrived directly in your Cabane, it’s time to relax before returning to Morpheus. Don’t look for the television, you won’t find it. At Les Cabottes, we take the time to rediscover simple pleasures. A good game of cards to the crackling sound of Louis Armstrong on the turntable, a hot cup of tea as you devour one of the books in your nest… Let yourself be carried away…

Pssst: if you’re looking for an original gift box to surprise a nature-lover in your circle, you should know that we offer several types of gift card. Whether you’re offering them a romantic night away, a dream weekend away or a week of total disconnection, it’s up to you to choose the unusual gift voucher that will hit the spot.

Les Cabottes, a new kind of hybrid hotel

Unusual accommodation with a change of scenery or cosy traditional-modern accommodation? At Les Cabottes, we don’t like labels, and especially not boxes. Far be it from us to offer a single type of room based on the model of a traditional hotel industry, which is all too often impersonal. At Les Cabottes, you can choose the accommodation that suits your needs and desires, for the sweetest of stays in the heart of the Burgundy countryside.

Les Cabottes, the first tiny house hotel since 2020

The Cabottes* project began with 4 tiny houses. Discovered a few years ago on a trip to the United States, we fell under the spell of these wooden micro-houses with their adorable exterior. And then we couldn’t believe our eyes when we stepped inside. Their design is full ofingenuity (thanks to our super builders Cahute and Optinid) to optimise space, transforming the doll’s house into a spacious cocoon. Finally, the tiny house has thechildlike spirit of a hut, inviting you to daydream, but with the comfort and luxury of a real home.

At Les Cabottes, you can stay in 4 different tiny houses:
– 2 small (red and green)
– 2 large (yellow and blue)

Our gîte and guest rooms near Beaune are a perfect blend of old-world renovation and modern touches.

To satisfy our guests who want to be independent during a long stay, or for those who don’t necessarily want unusual accommodation, we have designed two new areas: a 2-bedroom gîte, ideal for a family, with a large living room with wood-burning stove, a kitchen and a beautiful bathroom… and a 3-bedroom guest house that can be rented together or separately, as each room is independent. Located in the village’s former vicarage and newly renovated, they offer spacious, charming rooms (Burgundy ceilings, exposed beams, stone walls, etc.) and top-of-the-range finishes chosen with great care.

How do I get to Les Cabottes from Paris?

Our estate is 2 hours door-to-door from Paris by train and 3.5 hours by car (or 4 hours if you are travelling from the north, depending on the day’s traffic jams).

BY TRAIN, you have two options:
– Take the TGV from Gare de Lyon to Le Creusot Montchanin TGV station, then hire a car or order a taxi from Taxi des Maranges(06 60 64 33 68), with whom we have negotiated attractive rates for our customers (don’t hesitate to call them, making sure they know you are staying with us).
– Take an INOUI or TER train to Chagny station and then order a taxi from Taxi des Maranges(06 60 64 33 68) or take the bus that will take you directly to our village of Change, the timetable for which can be found here.

BY CAR :
Take the A6 to the Pouilly-en-Auxois exit and after 30 minutes on Burgundy country roads, you’ll arrive at your destination.

See you soon in Burgundy!
