A new kind of boutique hotel near Beaune: Les Cabottes

Why don’t we start by introducing you to our establishment?

We’re Alexane and Felix. Thirty-somethings, former Parisian-Lyon urbanites converted to Burgundian city-dwellers, and delighted!

A few years ago, we took the crazy gamble of swapping our former jobs in consultancy and copywriting for the great outdoors and, more specifically, tourist accommodation. Because we don’t really like fitting into boxes, we wanted to build an original project combining unusual accommodation with our 4 tiny houses and traditional-modern accommodation with our lovingly renovated gîte and guest house. Whether you’re looking for a solo break, a romantic getaway for two, or a get-together with family or friends, you can choose the accommodation that best suits your needs and desires.

Tiny houses…

The Cabottes project began with 4 tiny houses. Discovered a few years ago on a trip to the United States, we fell under the spell of these wooden micro-houses with their adorable exterior. And then we couldn’t believe our eyes when we stepped inside. Their design is full of ingenuity (thanks to our super builders Cahute and Optinid) to optimise space, transforming the doll’s house into a spacious cocoon. Finally, the tiny house has the childlike spirit of a hut, inviting you to daydream while still having the comfort and luxury of a real home. At Les Cabottes, we have 4 tiny houses to rent, each with its own special features. The red cabotte is a little cocoon ideal for solo travellers or lovers looking for privacy, the green cabotte is our eco-responsible tiny house perfect for nature lovers, the yellow cabotte is our family tiny house to please the whole family and the blue cabotte is perhaps the most breathtaking with its sunroof so you can sleep under the stars. All have en-suite bathrooms and their own Nordic bath.

… a 4-person gîte and a character guest house

To satisfy our guests who wish to be self-sufficient during a long stay or for those who don’t necessarily want unusual accommodation, we have come up with two new holiday rentals:

a gîte near Beaune for 4 people, ideal for a small tribe or a get-together with friends. The common areas include a large living room with wood-burning stove and flat-screen TV, a fully-equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, coffee machine, etc.), a beautiful bathroom… in short, a cosy little country house with a terrace overlooking the vineyards and an inner courtyard perfect for a barbecue. A word of warning for people with reduced mobility: because it’s an old building, our gîte has several staircases, particularly to access the upstairs bedrooms.

a guest house near Beaune with 3 rooms that can be rented together at no extra cost or separately as each is independent. Located in the village’s former 18th-century vicarage and newly renovated, the rooms are spacious and charming (Burgundy ceilings, exposed beams, stone walls, etc.) and finished to a very high standard. Our guest rooms near Beaune all have views over the vineyards and Burgundy countryside. The rooms have been decorated to create real little cocoons in which we hope you will feel at home.

Please note that we provide Bonsoirs linen in all our accommodation, including soft sheets for a good night’s sleep and towels for you to curl up in after your shower or Nordic bath. Baby cots are also available on request and fresh home-cooked meals are served daily. Luggage storage is available at our reception if you wish to go for a walk after checkout.

Fun things to do at Les Cabottes

If you choose to rent a tiny house, each one has its own private Nordic bath. Heated over a wood fire, the water temperature reaches 37°C, so you can relax instantly while admiring the view over the vines. A light-hearted break from the hectic pace of everyday life, the Nordic bath is the ideal way to unwind.

If you’d like to discover the region’s delicious nectars, you can enjoy a Burgundy wine tasting directly at Les Cabottes. Focusing on wines from the Côte de Beaune and the Maranges, Felix invites you to share his finest discoveries, mixing whites, reds and even rosé if you’re a wine lover. Visits to wineries in the village are also possible.

Finally, if you fancy a more active option, electric bikes are available for hire directly from Les Cabottes, so you can explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed vineyards on the “voie verte”, just a few minutes’ walk from your accommodation. For a day out, you can visit Beaune and its lovely historic centre, its famous Hospices, its Musée du Vin de Bourgogne and its shops. There are also walks and hikes in the Burgundy countryside, between vineyards and forests, such as the Bout du Monde nature reserve. You’ll also find other ideas and confidential addresses around Beaune and more generally in Southern Burgundy in the welcome booklet in each accommodation. Thanks to the central location of our boutique hotel, the Morvan National Park is also just a few kilometres from Les Cabottes, perfect for an excursion into green Burgundy with its forests and lakes as far as the eye can see.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about organising your stay or if you have any special requests to make your overnight stay at Les Cabottes an unforgettable experience. We are approximately 30 minutes drive south of Beaune and an hour from Dijon.

Amazing place with a spectacular view 🍇. We loved our stay at Les Cabottes. The owners manage it with lots of love and care and you can see this in every detail. We were traveling with a baby and it was ideal to have the dinner and breakfast available as a service. We also loved the cheese platter with good wine. Make sure you walk around in the area. A hidden gem!
