Discover the cuisine of Les Cabottes for a memorable gastronomic weekend in Burgundy
As lovers of good food and passionate about gastronomy, we chose to put cooking at the heart of the project. Sleeping well is important, but eating well is just as important for a total experience, immersed in the philosophy of Les Cabottes.
Simple, uncomplicated cooking
Once she’d made the switch, Alexane left the office life behind and went back to school – or rather, behind the stove at the Institut Paul Bocuse. This return to her origins in Lyon has enabled her to turn her passion into a professional career. After several months of demanding training, Alexane arrived in Burgundy, a few kilometres from Beaune, to put down her suitcases and knives. The Cabottes project has very strong links with the region, and Alexane is keen to honour Burgundy’s gastronomic heritage while adding a touch of modernity, making each dish unique for our guests’ palates.
For a night, a weekend or a week, enjoy an inclusive gastronomic experience.
At Les Cabottes, every guest is unique. Everyone has their own tastes, special dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances, all of which influence the menus Alexane concocts every day. As we cook everything on site using fresh produce, we can adapt the contents of the gourmet basket to suit the palates of all our guests. Just let us know when you book or order your meal. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free… Alexane is happy to meet any challenge. We also offer a ‘children’s’ version of our gourmet baskets, in smaller portions so that little gourmets can discover the region’s delicacies in the same way as their parents’ big palates.
A new kind of restaurant
At Les Cabottes, you don’t come to the restaurant, the restaurant comes to you. As you may already know, we are not a traditional hotel. We like to break codes and adapt them to offer you a discreet, personalised service, so that we can be at your service throughout your stay. Our gourmet baskets are delivered to your room, ready to enjoy. They can be devoured in your room (all our accommodation has a dining area), on the terrace or in our summer garden in fine weather, or even in your Nordic spa for the most daring guests. Can you imagine enjoying a well-cooked boeuf bourguignon overlooking the sunset and the vineyards?
A complete catering offer for every moment of the day
At Les Cabottes, we like to accompany every gourmet moment of your stay. Once you’ve packed your bags, you can discover our aperitif boards to get the party started. For dinner, our gourmet hamper will be at your table with a menu comprising a starter, main course and dessert, which you can add to as you wish with cheeses from our beautiful Burgundy Franche-Comté region (and of course the right wine to go with it – our wine list will be available in your accommodation, and Felix will be happy to advise you on your choice). After a gentle night’s sleep, your breakfast basket will be waiting for you outside your bedroom door.
Our à la carte breakfast to start the day
Yoghurts, jams, pain cocotte, pastries… we make almost all the breakfast you’re served, except for the butter, which we don’t churn (yet!), and the apple juice, which comes straight from the organic apple producer in Santenay, a few kilometres from Les Cabottes. Our eco-responsible philosophy is also reflected in the hot drinks that accompany you during your stay, as they are all organic and come from Burgundy-Franche-Comté: Maison LaGrange near Besançon for the teas/infusions and Le Petit Bourguignon in Dijon for the coffee (the icing on the cake is that the capsules are compostable!). Breakfast à la carte at €15/person.
Our (truly) gourmet dinner basket
Concocted using fresh, local produce by Alexane, who trained at the Institut Paul Bocuse, our dinner basket consists of a seasonal soup as a starter (which always contains a little originality!), a hot dish (usually the traditional, well-cooked beef bourguignon served with a gourmet purée or Gaston Gerard chicken), and a dessert.), a hot dish (usually the traditional house beef bourguignon , well simmered and served with a gourmet purée or Gaston Gerard chicken), and a dessert (again, by way of illustration, we often make a panacotta or a crumble that pleases even the most demanding palates. These suggestions are given as a guide only, as our menus vary according to what’s available – so it’s not possible to choose a particular dish. Please note that our dinner is served around 8pm in your accommodation. Gourmet basket at €24/person, with the option of adding cheese for €5/person – to be ordered no later than the day before your arrival. A wine list is also available to accompany your aperitif or dinner from our fine selection (see “Drink” below).
Our packed lunch
Whether you want to eat in or take it away, our picnic basket includes typical Burgundy cheese gougères to whet your appetite, local sausage, Morvan country terrine, Comté cheese, fruit and cake.local sausage , a Morvan country terrine, Comté cheese, a piece of fruit and a cake, all accompanied by our homemade pain cocotte and a glass of water. Picnic on site or to take away at €15/person.
Our drinks menu
We invite you to discover the delicious beverages on offer from our beautiful Burgundy region, whose reputation is well established. We have visited the wineries closest to Les Cabottes to select our own little jewel, some of which are organic. The wine list we are offering you to taste at Les Cabottes as an aperitif or with your dinner is the result of our favourites. The Maranges from Demangeot, the Pommard from Rocault, the Santenay from the Nouveau family, the Meursault from Gras and the Crémants from Domaine Lafouge are all little nuggets that we just can’t get enough of. You can also discover them during a in our vaulted cellars.
And because there’s something for everyone, we also offer delicious Nectars de Bourgogne juices and Elixia organic Jura lemonades.
Do you have any questions? The answer may lie here:
Burgundy is a land of epicureans, so you’ll find plenty of restaurants in the area. Near Les Cabottes, we recommend Le Marchand in Saint-léger-sur-dheune, L’Ouillette in Santenay and Le Bistrot des Falaises in Saint-Romain. If you want to make a splash by opting for Michelin-starred dishes, the 3-star Lameloise restaurant is in Chagny. Beaune also offers a wide range of restaurants.
There’s no shortage of beautiful places to put your basket. First of all, in our meadow, facing the vineyards. If you climb the voie verte, you’ll land directly in the vineyards. If you borrow an electric bike, you can take the walk a little further and find other perfect picnic spots. Along the canal, opposite the Château de La Rochepot or next to the Château de Meursault.
Absolutely, you’ll find our different gift voucher offers right here. You can start with a voucher including just the overnight stay and then add all the options you want, or opt for a packaged voucher with gourmet options, like our “Gourmet Combo”. You can choose the “Send by post” option to receive a beautiful gift box.
The gourmet dinner basket costs €24/adult and €15/child and the picnic basket costs €15/person.
Absolutely, a drinks menu is available in the rooms. There are white and red wines, rosé and Crémant, as well as beers and soft drinks, all carefully selected by talented craftsmen and winegrowers. In all, there are no fewer than 50 references on offer. We also organise daily tastings so you can discover our favourite vintages.
Our hotel is located in Change, a small village in Burgundy on the border between the Côte-d’Or and the Saône-et-Loire – in short, the ideal location for a Burgundy getaway that will allow you to discover both the vineyards and Le Morvan.
Electric bike rides, hiking, visits to estates and châteaux, rock climbing, cultural activities… there’s no shortage of activities for a weekend or a week’s holiday. We’ve put together a few ideas to help you put the finishing touches to your programme.
