Details of your unusual cabin

1 mezzanine bedroom – sleeps 2 – 1 bathroom with WC – 1 sitting room – 1 private Nordic bath

The red cabotte is the smallest of our tiny houses. Adorned in a beautiful wooden outfit, it’s immediately eye-catching and often arouses curiosity: what could be hiding in this doll’s house-like tiny house?

La cabotte rouge has all the comforts you need to make your stay with us a pleasant one. On the ground floor, the cabin has a lovely living area with a large sofa for lounging around and admiring the view over the vines, anda dining area with a retractable table for hosting breakfasts and dinners at home. In fine weather, meals can also be enjoyed on the outside terrace, which is private to the home. Of course, the exterior cladding reflects the interior design: the eco-friendly construction is made to measure, using top-quality materials that are sourced locally and in an eco-responsible way. Wood is omnipresent; built on a trailer by the talented Cahute team, the structure of the red tiny house is based on a wooden framework, cork insulation for warmth and a wooden interior lining. The omnipresence of wood creates an instant feeling of well-being, warmth and softness, just like a chalet after all.

On the same level is the bathroom, which is also surprisingly large for the size of the house. For your comfort, it has a pretty copper shower and a water closet. To sum up, our red tiny house is a small, one-night residence that offers everything you need for a delightful, unusual stay.

Where you will sleep in the accommodation

1 MEZZANINE BEDROOM
Double bed 140x190cm

Off to the mezzanine! The double bed is upstairs and can be accessed via a ladder. A word of warning for tall people who might feel cramped under the sloping roof – the bed in the red cabotte is the smallest of all our cabottes. The cosy effect is guaranteed if you want to sleep close together with your other half 🙂 If you’re worried about feeling cramped, don’t hesitate to opt for another tiny house, as all our other tiny houses have a queen-size bed (160x200cm).

An unusual tiny house for a surprising stay

With its attractive grey poplar cladding, tiny windows and unique architecture, our red tiny house is sure to surprise. The living space may be compact, but it still has all the amenities you need. In fact, the entire construction has been designed to be minimalist, without compromising on comfort. Of all the tiny house models on the estate, the red cabotte rivals in cuteness. Its miniature size and proportionate architecture (the red tiny house measures 4mx4mx4m) make it a beautiful object, a sort of pocket hut that we’d all like to take home to get away from it all. Well, even though the tiny is on wheels, it’s really meant to stay on its lovely plot of land facing the vineyards. But you can be sure that the doors of our red hut will always be wide open to you, whenever you feel like disconnecting from everyday life.

The icing on the surprise? The steaming private Nordic bath behind the house, nestling on the terrace. It’s not immediately obvious when you arrive, but you’ll discover it as you go along. It’s 37°C when you arrive and remains so throughout your stay.

Disconnection mode activated

Live to the rhythm of nature and forget the daily grind

Here, only the sun, the crowing of the cockerel and the tinkling of the bells punctuate the day. We’re used to saying that at Les Cabottes we’re in slow life mode, and with good reason: we do everything we can to make your life with us as gentle as possible. Say goodbye to the television and hello to the turntable, a selection of current literature and board games. Say goodbye to the car and hello to the electric bike, so you can discover the vineyards by pedalling along the greenway. Rest assured, our tiny houses are not disconnected from everything either; if you feel like reconnecting with the outside world, a wifi connection is available in each of our tiny houses.

Your well-being at the heart of our project

A warm Nordic bath to relieve tension, a wide range of massages given by Elodie’s expert hands, and tasty dishes brought to you ready to eat, right in your tiny house: that’s the programme for a stay at Les Cabottes. To make the experience complete, we’ve designed each service to be personalised, adapted to your desires at the time. Would you like an aperitif with a local lemonade? In just a few minutes, we’ll prepare these little delights and bring them to you at home, immersed in the Burgundy countryside.

Do you have any questions? The answer may be here:

How much does a night in the red tiny house cost?

All availability and prices can be viewed online here. You can also use this link to make your reservation.

Is the tiny house connected to the mains?

Absolutely, to ensure your comfort throughout your stay, the red cabotte is connected to water and electricity.

Is the tiny house heated in winter?

Here again, your well-being is our priority. There are two radiators in the tiny house, so the living space can be heated very quickly. Thanks to the ecological cork insulation, the heat stays inside and rises naturally to the mezzanine so you can enjoy a cosy night’s sleep. The whole house is kept at the right temperature for a pleasant stay.

Does La Cabotte Rouge have a garden?

Our houses can take advantage of several outdoor spaces. The tiny houses were built on a plot of over 1000m2. In addition to the private terrace that all our cottages have, a garden of over 6000m2 is available to our guests at all times. Garden furniture is available for relaxing or eating. You can also visit our two miniature donkeys, Rosalie and Ferdinand, who are at the bottom of the meadow.

Have you built your own tiny houses?

We didn’t build our own tiny houses (because that’s a real job!); we called on the talented hands of the Cahute team to build our red tiny house and the other models on the estate: the yellow and green cabottes. They were built in France, in Brittany, using quality materials sourced directly by Cahute. From the cladding to the interior fittings, they thought of every detail to guarantee a unique experience. The tiny houses then arrived in Burgundy by road (the special feature of the tiny house is that it is built on a trailer to make it easier to move). Their installation on the land on which they now sit was carried out brilliantly by Atelier Jardin, our landscapers from the start of the project.

Do you plan to develop the project in other regions of France?

There are no plans for this at the moment, as we prefer to concentrate on developing the project in our beautiful Burgundy region. We still have lots of ideas for growing Les Cabottes, starting with 3 new rooms in a few months’ time.

Is it possible to bring a dog?

No, this is not possible, even if your dog is very small, very clean and well behaved. However, we do accept small dogs in our gîte.

Amazing place with a spectacular view 🍇. We loved our stay at Les Cabottes. The owners manage it with lots of love and care and you can see this in every detail. We were traveling with a baby and it was ideal to have the dinner and breakfast available as a service. We also loved the cheese platter with good wine. Make sure you walk around in the area. A hidden gem!
