An eco-friendly tiny house for a green holiday

A stay that’s as eco-responsible as it is comfortable in a wooden mini-home with a unique organic shape

4.9 263 reviews

1 mezzanine bedroom – sleeps 2 – 1 bathroom with separate dry toilet – 1 lounge – 1 private Nordic bath

La cabotte verte is without doubt the most eco-friendly of our tiny houses. Even though we’ve designed all our accommodation to be as eco-responsible as possible (and yes, our toilet paper is also French, thank you Popee!), we’ve taken this philosophy one step further here, as even the toilets are green (so no more classic water toilets). With its organic shell shape (a nice reference to the region’s emblematic animal, get it?), the green tiny house is seductive because of its micro size, which offers plenty of space once you’re through the door.

If we look at the interior layout, the green cottage has a large living space on the ground floor that combines several functions. The first thing you notice is the unusual open-plan bathroom – the large copper shower opens onto the living room and the bucolic surroundings. The toilet is, of course, separate to ensure comfort and privacy. The living room has plenty of light thanks to its many windows and bow windows, and is as cosy as you could wish for. A retractable table lets you enjoy meals in the warmth of your cabin, play board games or enjoy a cup of tea when the weather doesn’t allow you to use the outside terrace. The view is breathtaking, over the vines on one side and the fig tree on the other. Once spring arrives, your wooden micro house is totally immersed in its beautiful leafy surroundings.

1 MEZZANINE BEDROOM
Queen size double bed 160x2000cm

The double bed is upstairs and can be accessed via a Japanese staircase. If you’re not very comfortable with unusual climbing, don’t hesitate to opt for our blue tiny house, which has a classic staircase.

Eco-friendly construction for a new model of sustainable hotels

At Les Cabottes, wood is king. Panels on the exterior cladding, framework, interior trim, made-to-measure furniture… The Cahute workshop from Brittany has put all its expertise into this small eco-designed home with panache. To adapt to the needs and uses of the home, the additional building materials have also been meticulously chosen, particularly the cork used for the insulation. They were all sourced in France, of course, and more particularly in Burgundy. Yes, for the record, Cahute manufactures its tiny houses in Brittany using materials that come from our beautiful region: back to sender! The wood chosen for the interior fittings is none other than poplar from the Morvan, and the paints are made with natural ochre from Burgundy… All the resources used are environmentally friendly, both in terms of their origin and their quality. Every effort is made to ensure the durability of the construction, so that our tiny houses will have many more happy days ahead of them – and above all, your greater comfort. Choosing an eco-responsible habitat as your home for the evening doesn’t mean you’ll be living in an unusual rustic setting – quite the contrary. Placed on its trailer chassis, the tiny house has the advantage of being high off the ground, which prevents damp and guarantees a nice temperature whatever the season.

Total disconnection for responsible immersion

Slow life mode activated

We’ve slipped little things into every nook and cranny of the tiny house to keep you entertained. A vinyl turntable with an eclectic selection of Beatles, Céline Dion and Air, books that we really like, to nibble on or devour as you wish, and of course the Nordic bath on the terrace of the tiny house, which will inevitably invite you to laze around and recharge your batteries, so you’ll be full of energy when you leave. And to make your life at Les Cabottes even sweeter, our drinks and nibbles menu is available until 8pm. Just text us your drink order and Felix will be there with his best smile and his best tray of treats.

A tailor-made programme far from the rest of the world: massages, walks and gastronomy

Every moment of your stay has been designed to give you a unique experience. From locavore breakfasts and dinners, with their emphasis on organic produce, to itineraries for walks and hikes in the surrounding area, to Elodie’swell-being massages, it’s up to you to choose the options that will enhance your stay in our eco-friendly tiny house. With its spacious living area, the green tiny house invites you to make the most of its bow windows to read a book, drink a cup of tea or simply admire the view over the vineyards. If you want to be on your own for meals, the tiny house is equipped with a mini fridge, a kettle and a piston coffee machine. There’s no kitchen in the tiny house, so if you don’t want to take gourmet baskets home or eat outside, only small cold items can be brought in.

Do you have a question? The answer may be here:

How much does a night in the green tiny house cost?

The price per night varies according to the period; we invite you to consult our availability schedule here.

Is the tiny house accessible all year round?

Absolutely, we’re open to discovering Burgundy through all the seasons and in all weathers. In summer, the nights are cool, so it’s easy to bring the temperature down in the house (for ecological reasons, there’s no air conditioning in the tiny houses). In winter, the heating transforms the green tiny house into a cosy little cocoon.

Is the Nordic bath open all year round?

Of course, we preheat the baths to 37°C so you can enjoy them as soon as you arrive. In summer, we lower the temperature by a few degrees to make it more refreshing. On request, we can lower or raise the temperature of the bath to suit your tastes. You can also enjoy the Nordic bath in all weathers: the experience is truly incredible when it’s actually quite cold outside. Rain doesn’t spoil the bathing experience either, because once you’re in the water, you won’t feel the drops.

Have you thought about the installation of the cabotte so that it has as little impact as possible?

Respect for the environment in which we have set up the hut has of course been a priority for us. The choice of this type of construction was also made with this in mind, as the fact that it is built on a trailer means that it is mobile and does not touch the ground. Its low weight also means it has a smaller footprint.

Is the tiny house autonomous?

As it is not intended to be nomadic, we have chosen to connect it to the networks to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. As the project is based on an eco-responsible approach, we have put in place other initiatives to limit energy loss as much as possible and optimise the home’s energy balance.

What activities can we do around our little houses?

Our aim is to make your life as easy as possible, so you’ll find plenty of ideas to occupy your days and nights and discover our beautiful Burgundy.

Amazing place with a spectacular view 🍇. We loved our stay at Les Cabottes. The owners manage it with lots of love and care and you can see this in every detail. We were traveling with a baby and it was ideal to have the dinner and breakfast available as a service. We also loved the cheese platter with good wine. Make sure you walk around in the area. A hidden gem!
