La Fermette, a charming cottage overlooking the vineyards sleeping 4 people and 1 baby

You’ll be staying in theestate’s old farmhouse, dating from the 18th century, which we’ve completely renovated, retaining the old-world charm that gives the house its identity. Our gîte boasts uninterrupted views over the vineyards, the little village church and our large, bucolic garden. With its ultra-bright kitchen opening onto a private patio, cosy living room with wood-burning stove and upstairs sleeping area with 2 bedrooms, our farmhouse is the perfect little country house for your next getaway in Burgundy.

The ideal pied-à-terre for your next holiday in Burgundy

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be struck by the imposing wisteria that surrounds the building, giving it a certain charm and a delicate floral scent that is very pleasant in fine weather. Facing due south, with an uninterrupted view over the green countryside and vineyards, our gîte is ideal all year round – its thick walls keep it cool in summer and the gentle warmth of the wood-burning stove in winter. Tomettes (terracotta floor tiles), beams, exposed stone: we’ve preserved the old charm and authentic character of the house while adding modern touches and top-of-the-range indoor and outdoor facilities to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The perfect holiday home for families and friends

Our gîte consists ofa large living/dining room with a wood-burning stove that creates a cosy atmosphere,a spacious, light-filled kitchen that opens onto a charming little courtyard with a barbecue for getting together with friends, and two beautiful bedrooms upstairs with a shared bathroom. Located on the 1st floor, both bedrooms have a splendid view over the vineyards and their layout can be adapted to suit your needs; in fact, the single beds in the small bedroom can be separated (for two children, for example) or joined together (for a couple) on request.

A small house with many possibilities, our gîte will offer you its share of pleasures as the seasons go by: reading a book by the fire while listening to the rain fall, relaxing on one of your two private terraces while admiring the vines, cooking in good company under the glass roof, spending a night in the peace and quiet of the countryside… In short, all the little things you dream of doing on holiday.

Looking for a gîte near Beaune that accepts dogs?

Because we know that a 4-legged friend is an integral part of the family, we are committed to offering pet-friendly accommodation so that you can enjoy your holiday together. With its walled rear courtyard and front terrace that can also be closed off, our gîte offers your little companion comfort and security. To make sure your pet has the time of his life at Les Cabottes, you’ll also find a dog bowl and a small blanket in the gîte.

Nice things to do around the gite: Beaune, Autun…

For nature lovers and walkers, our gite is just a few metres from the “voie verte” reserved for cyclists and pedestrians, as well as footpaths such as the famous Jean-Marc Boivin (JMB) trail, which gives a great overview of Burgundy’s undulating landscapes, between vineyards and wooded forests. If you fancy a cultural visit, Autun and Beaune are just half an hour from the gite. A day trip to Dijon is also well worthwhile – we recommend you leave the motorway behind and take the Route des Grands Crus, which passes through some of Burgundy’s greatest appellations.

OPTIONAL SERVICES

Do you have any questions about our gîte? You’ll find the answer here:

Is the gîte a flat or a whole house?

It is not a flat but a detached house adjoining our own home (we share only the access gate). The gîte has a large surface area and two private outdoor areas (a terrace at the front, with a table and barbecue to enjoy the fine summer evenings, and a courtyard at the back which is closed off to ensure everyone’s safety). Unlike a flat, here you enjoy total independence during your stay. As this is a whole house, stays of 2 nights minimum – if you wish to stay 1 night with us, we invite you to opt for a room or a tiny house.

How is the house arranged?

You enter our gîte through the living room, with its cosy seating and warm wood-burning stove. The living room then opens onto a dining area, itself adjoining the kitchen. From the kitchen, you can then access the rear courtyard, furnished with garden furniture for relaxing. In the centre of the house, a staircase leads upstairs to two bedrooms and a shower room. The shower room also has a toilet. Each bedroom has its own storage space, offering comfort and independence during your stay and guaranteeing you a peaceful holiday. Depending on the number of guests, you can stay as a couple, a family or with a friend.

Is the gîte close to Beaune? Is it easy to get around to discover the whole of Burgundy?

Beaune is very easy to get to from our gîte. By car, you can take the famous Route des Grands Crus, which is splendid in all seasons. By bike, you can take the well-named Voie des vignes, a greenway that links our little village of Change directly to Beaune via Santenay, Meursault and Pommard. Situated between Northern Burgundy (Chablis, Auxerre…) and Southern Burgundy (Macon, Cluny…), the house is right in the centre of the region. This location is ideal for visits and excursions, for a few hours (Beaune, Chalon, Autun, Saint-Romain…) or even a day (Dijon, Morvan Regional Nature Park…). For a green holiday, it’s possible to take walks and hikes directly from Change. Our favourites? The Trois-Croix hike above Santenay or the Bout du Monde hike along the cliffs above Nolay, Cormot and Saint-Romain, which gives a great overview of the different landscapes of this beautiful region that is so close to our hearts. The Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan is also ideal for beautiful walks.

Does the gîte have a Nordic bath or swimming pool?

The swimming pool project is in the pipeline for summer 2026. At present, the Nordic baths are private to the tiny houses and are therefore not accessible to people staying in our other accommodation. However, it is possible to enjoy the large garden directly opposite the house, in addition to your private terrace.

Do you offer an electric bike hire service directly at Les Cabottes?

We offer electric bike hire by the half-day (morning or afternoon) or by the day. This makes it possible to discover the vineyards in slow-lifestyle mode. For half a day, you can cycle to Meursault and back. For a full day, you can drive to Beaune and back. For your comfort and convenience, you can hire directly from Les Cabottes.

Is there a car park?

The church car park, just a few metres from the house, offers free parking nearby. There are also plans to build a private car park, and electric charging points will be available for our guests by summer 2024. The car park is free of charge.

Amazing place with a spectacular view 🍇. We loved our stay at Les Cabottes. The owners manage it with lots of love and care and you can see this in every detail. We were traveling with a baby and it was ideal to have the dinner and breakfast available as a service. We also loved the cheese platter with good wine. Make sure you walk around in the area. A hidden gem!
