An educational tasting and an unusual overnight stay for a wine tasting weekend in the heart of Burgundy
Welcome to Les Cabottes, a new kind of hotel where you can sleep, eat and taste the region’s finest wines.
Would you like to spend a weekend discovering Burgundy, its emblematic wines and its landscapes that change with the seasons ? At Les Cabottes, we’ve put together a lovely programme to satisfy that craving, and even more. We’ve conceived the project as an immersive experience to allow you to disconnect from everyday life for a few days.
THE PROGRAMME FOR YOUR WINE WEEKEND AT LES CABOTTES :
– Sleep in an unusual tiny house with private Nordic spa, a room with character or a bucolic cottage overlooking the vineyards.
– Treat yourself to our home-cooked meals, made with fresh, local produce that showcases Burgundy’s terroir
– Discover the most beautiful villages and wine-growing landscapes by taking an electric bike ride along the “voie verte”.
– And, of course, taste a selection of regional wines made by us, according to our favourites of the moment.
Pssst: you’ll even be able to buy the wines you taste at wine shop prices if you’d like to take some nice souvenirs of your stay with us back to your cellar.
Follow the guide for a Burgundy wine tasting enlightened by explanations, advice and juicy anecdotes.
How can you talk about Burgundy without mentioning its vineyards… it would be a bit like a Monday in the sun, something you can never have. Yes, grapes reign supreme here, and that’s not going to stop any time soon. It has to be said that the reputation of Burgundy wine is no accident, as there are so many little delights to choose from. Our pleasure? Visiting the local winegrowers to discover their lovely vintages. The problem? It’s pretty time-consuming to go round the estates when you’ve only got a few hours to spend there, as is probably the case for you. So we thought we’d simplify the task for you by allowing you to taste the wines of several winegrowers in one place – you guessed it: in the cellars of Les Cabottes!
From white Chardonnay to red Pinot Noir, Crémant with its fine bubbles and even rosé for warm summer evenings, Burgundy abounds in an oenological palette that we invite you to discover throughan initiatory journey in our 18th century vaulted cellar. Felix will also be happy to answer any questions you may have; whether you’re a wine lover or a connoisseur, Felix will put you at ease by sharing his knowledge of Burgundy, its wines and wine in general. Oenology is within everyone’s reach; with us, there’s no jargon, just great sensations. Our aim is to give you memorable experiences, to introduce you to the wines Burgundy has to offer, or to go into more detail if you already know the region’s wines. In short, every tasting is different because every audience is different.
How is the Cabottes tasting organised?
We’re very attached to the terroir in which we’re based, in the middle of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and the Maranges, and we’re keen to help you discover the vintages of these two beautiful regions of the Burgundy vineyards. Felix will be tasting 6 of his favourite wines. All the wines you’ll taste are produced around our hotel, in the Beaune and Maranges region. We sometimes make a few exceptions and take you a little further afield to discover some lovely nuggets, but of course it’s always in Burgundy.
The advantages of a tasting at Les Cabottes
- Educational: you will benefit from the advice of Felix, WSET 2 holder.
- Practical: discover several areas in one place
- Exclusive : many of the wines tasted come from estates that do not welcome private customers.
- Economical: you can buy the wines you have tasted at wine shop prices
- … And responsibly! The doses of wine are of course sufficient to allow you to discover each wine, but they remain limited so that you can get back in the car safely afterwards. We also provide free breathalysers.
One or more children with you?
We’ve come up with a solution to ensure that young and old alike have a great time: while the adults are tasting the wines, the little ones can enjoy the colouring table in the cellar. It’s magical!
Practical details:
- Tasting of 6 Burgundy wines in our vaulted cellars
- Every day at 11 a.m. by reservation only
- Duration: approx. 1 hour
- 20€ per person
- Wines tasted can be purchased at wine merchant prices
- Tasting open to guests of Les Cabottes as well as outsiders
- A Change, a small village in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune (30 minutes south of Beaune)
Do you have a question? The answer may be here:
The tasting takes place in our vaulted cellar, directly at Les Cabottes. We are located in the small village of Change, just half an hour south of Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines. The route to our hotel is superb, as you take the famous Route des Grands Crus through the vineyards, discovering some of the most beautiful villages on the Côte Viticole, including Pommard, Meursault and Saint-Romain. Don’t hesitate to stop off and discover the pretty châteaux along the way – although you can’t visit Château de la Rochepot, you can admire it from the road. If you want to visit a château-domaine, you can opt for Pommard, which organises daily tours.
Would you like to taste a Grand Cru? Do you dream of learning more about the greatest wines of Burgundy so that Corton, Vougeot, Beaune, Pommard and Meursault no longer hold any secrets for you? Would you like to take part in a wine tasting session, with a mouthful to match each wine you taste? Or take a tour of the vineyards to discover the wine-growing region? Would you like to organise a private tasting or a tasting for a group? We can create the experience of your dreams. You can contact us by email or phone (03.45.28.09.33) with your requirements – we’ll do our best to fulfil your wishes, except perhaps to taste wines from other regions of France 😉
At the moment, we organise tastings every day, but only at 11am. Felix has no other availability during the day, as he welcomes customers who come to spend the night at Les Cabottes from 4pm.
Absolutely, depending on how much time you have, it’s always best to stay at least 2 nights to get to know the place and the surrounding area. There’s plenty to do and see around Les Cabottes, and we’ll be happy to give you our best recommendations for exploring the area. If you can only stay one night with us, that’s perfectly possible. Stays are for a minimum of 2 nights only in our gîte and tiny houses in July and August.
We offer an electric bike hire service – we’re just a stone’s throw from the voie verte that links Change directly to the vineyards. This makes it possible to ride all the way up the coast and all the way to Dijon. Don’t hesitate to consult the Tourist Office website for details of the various itineraries available.

Amazing place with a spectacular view 🍇. We loved our stay at Les Cabottes. The owners manage it with lots of love and care and you can see this in every detail. We were traveling with a baby and it was ideal to have the dinner and breakfast available as a service. We also loved the cheese platter with good wine. Make sure you walk around in the area. A hidden gem!
